you can’t oppression olympics your way out of how your trauma affected you.

“other people had it worse” bitch! I don’t care! just from looking at you it’s plain and obvious that you’ve had a time of it! a person can drown in six inches of water, it doesn’t matter if someone else is drowning in ten feet! you’re both still fucking drowning! show yourself a little bit of compassion before I come over there and do it for you. this is a threat

haute-pockette:

Senshi isn’t the only self-care icon of Dungeon Meshi. Yes, he’ll live in your brain forever to remind you to eat nutritional meals. But nutrition and delicious food is as far as his self-care goes. That man hasn’t washed his beard in who knows how long before he met the group.

Marcille is the queen of hygiene self-care. Cleanliness isn’t just for health, it feels good and luxurious to just sink yourself into a tub of warm water and fancy smelling soaps. If you don’t have the energy to do all that then just wash your hair! Enjoy the hot water against your scalp and massaging that shampoo in. Brush it, braid it, put it up into cute new styles! Marcille said magic is connected to a person’s mana, and taking care of it is good routine for mages. Just take a minute to comb/brush your hair and feel that magic in you!

still thinking about “decolonising” missionary work.

the way you decolonise missionary work is by not doing missionary work

the way you decolonise missionaries is like this:

“but it’s part of my religion to evangelise”

🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆 infinite jaguar attack

“but we need to go to Ethiopia (one of the oldest christian countries in the world) to make them the right kind of christian!”

🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆

jaguars

“but…”

🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆 jaguars

“but missionaries bring schools and hospitals to poor countries” that’s called humanitarian aid and trying to use humanitarian aid to get religious converts is actually SUPER fucked! hope this helps 🐆🐆🐆

After raising the price of COVID-19 vaccines more than four-fold this year, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla told investors Monday that the company will also likely hike the price of its lifesaving COVID-19 antiviral treatment, Paxlovid, raising further concern about access and healthcare costs.

Remember when everyone on earth started shitting on Martin Shkreli for cranking up the price of AIDS medicine? Time to do the same for Albert Bourla. Everyone needs to know his name, and everyone needs to virulently and vocally hate his goddamn guts.

Person who really wants to be dominated by a strong-armed authoritarian in a snappy uniform, but also they want to keep their kinks ideologically pure, so they split the difference and fantasise about getting their ass beat by the inspector-general of the US Postal Service.

it’s the way they simply mention marcille’s eyelashes breaking off when she was petrified and ryoko kui bothering to NOT line the eyelashes in her left eye in every pannel she appears after in that chapter

All amazing points and so important to take in.

I think I have done a couple of these, but not habitually or intensely. But it’s good awareness for me.

simplymisty:

do you guys ever get annoyed that like. we have bodily needs.

like, sure, I don’t mind eating a lil snack or drinking something tasty, BUT it annoys me that I have to do that in order to live.

like, I can’t have little treats all the time, no, I have to eat regular meals, because otherwise the body will get upset. and most of the times, the body will also get upset if you eat something in particular, because it’s dramatic like that

I like sweet fizzy drinks, but I gotta drink way more than I would like to in order to stay hydrated. and best way to do so is to drink water & that does NOT spark joy, the flavor usually is off, boring and annoying. not to mention if you drink enough, you gotta go to the bathroom so often, such an annoyance

like. do you guys get me.

adults are always talking about how “kids will do anything to get out of school” and okay, first of all that’s not true, but I think we really need to ask why that idea holds so much sway.

children’s brains are hard-wired to take in new information and acquire new skills. consider, for a moment, just how thoroughly our society had to fuck up the concept of education for it to be a normal thing to assume kids are universally desperate to avoid learning.

couple things here:

  • multiple things can actually be bad at the same time
  • I’m 32

couple more things:

  • Little kids really aren’t equipped to work full time without damaging their physical, mental, and emotional development and health, and when you play the “but adults work all day!” card you sound like a nineteenth century textile baron.
  • Highschoolers can easily be “working” 40+ hours a week, between school, homework, and extracurriculars and/or part-time work, and still hear this smug “:/ wait til you get to the real world sweaty” rhetoric all the time.
  • The original claim here wasn’t even “school is too hard,” it was “school is failing to perform its most basic function,” which is different.

from an adult point of view:

- When my work day is done, it’s done. I don’t need to spend hours each night to study or do homework.

- I don’t have tests and exams.

- I MAKE MONEY.

Sometimes I’ll be at home and start freaking out that I haven’t done any homework yet before I realize “Wait I’m 30.”

Or I’ll be asleep dreaming that I’m at school but suddenly realize at the end of the semester that I’ve missed all my classes and don’t know what’s going on

School/homework has to be a stressful thing if it gives people anxiety and nightmares over a decade after graduation.

On a serious note: I agree with all of this.

On another note “you sound like a 19th century textile baron” is my new fave insult.

“ok but where would Israeli Jewish ppl go” Palestinians have already created a plan for unity, YOU’RE just horny for this idea of brown “savages” getting revenge. White people did this with indigenous peoples, with freed enslaved people, with apartheid SA…also, if your main concern is the settlers/oppressors while the oppressed people can’t even recover their dead to count them… (Insert something that’ll have me put on a list)

Liberation is never bloodless, and if you’re one of the settlers (which is violence…by squatting on these people’s land and barring them from water, food, their own homes and comfort, you are being violent…), idk! My reaction to seeing people who are participating in genocide by being the ruling class in Genocide Land get their shit handed to them is uhh, well, you know where my sympathies lie.

Perfect post but also I want to add that Dr. Abu Sittah, a Nakba survivor, did a survey on inhabited land in Palestine and found that a majority of the depopulated villages from the Nakba and Naksa are uninhabited. Israel literally just prevents refugees from Gaza from just WALKING home out of pure racism. He also lays out an in depth plan about resettlement in this video. So its plainly just racist projecting and people should be ashamed of themselves for pushing the idea that liberation of Palestine means enacting a massacre for all Jews. Those people should educate themselves about Palestinian history and theory before asserting their opinions on things they don’t know about.
